Today we had orientation at LDM starting at 9am. Unfortunately, we have to walk 30 minutes to all of our classes. It didn’t bother us since we have such a nice apartment but after walking back and forth 3 times in one day we were exhausted. After orientation we grabbed sandwiches at a trattoria…yummy pancetta, parmesan, and arugula sandwich for only 2€. We then meandered our way back home…there’s about 5 different routes to get to our apartment and we’re still not sure which way is the best. At least we can have some variety on our long hikes every day.
Home sweet home! Via de Macci 20!
Dinner table!
Long narrow bathroom with festive toilet seat.
Living room
Kitchen!
Main hallway...front door is down on the left.
Serious security on our front door.
My room that I share with Melanie. (This is my bed and Mel's is to the right behind the desk)
Window in our room.
Rachel and Erika's room.
After resting at our home for a bit we decided to attempt grocery shopping. Our landlord said it was close by but we found that “close” by meant about a ½ mile walk. We didn’t realize what we were in for until we got there…culture shock for sure! The store was packed with people and hardly anything looked familiar. Instead of large shopping carts they have what look like small hand baskets but on wheels. Trying to figure out prices and what everything actually was took a long time. I’m sure we looked like dumb American girls. In the end we made it out alive with a few simple things to get us by for a couple days.
